3 races validated in Le Rouet

17/09/2022

1st of the 2 days dedicated to the Prince of Speed - French Speed Cup on the spot of Le Rouet in La Palme in the South of France, the day of Friday allows Pierre Mortefon (in foil) and Antoine Albeau (in fin) to illustrate themselves before a Saturday even more windy...
For this new edition of the Prince of Speed - French Speed Cup, it's a good crowd that was present even if the Tramontane is having a hard time to set up at the beginning of the day. And so it is in foil that the competition starts with 2 races to follow on the 500 meters run and 2 guys who quickly make themselves noticed, Pierre Mortefon and William Huppert. With times of 36.86 and 36,68 knots each, they are not far from Nicolas Goyard's record (absent from this event) and his 37.19 knots.
Later in the day, the wind finally allowed the speed guns to be taken out with a round that went to Antoine Albeau with a time of 41.89 knots ahead of Matteo Iachino (41.38 knots), Sylvain Hoceini (40.19 knots in kitesurfing), Ben Van Der Steen (39.71 knots) and Pascal Boulanger (39.63 knots).
On Saturday, the Prince of Speed - French Speed Cup will continue with optimistic weather forecasts...
