Youp Schmit wins on home soil

From the 7th to the 10th of April, the Freestyle Pro Tour visited the small island of Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles for the FPT King and Queen of the Caribbean, an event won by local rider Youp Schmit!

The second event of the Freestyle Pro Tour season after South Africa in January, 24 competitors were present in Bonaire from the 7th to the 10th of April for the FPT King and Queen of the Caribbean with a competition that started on a high note, a "Proving Ground" event whose aim is to allow young talent to be noticed and with the presence of Sarah-Quita Offringa who was able to compete against the men.

In the single elimination, the first highlight was the confrontation between Lennart Neubauer and Steven van Broeckhoven, a clash of generations which the young Greek won on his return to the competition. In the final, Neubauer lost to local boy Youp Schmit, but proved that he was back on the international scene.
The double elimination tournament that followed the final allowed Yentel Caers to make a great comeback and finish 3rd. In the second final of the week, all the talent and determination of Lennart Neubauer was not enough and Youp Schmit confirmed his good form at the beginning of the season...
