Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge Global Virtual Tour 2023

The Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge Global Virtual Tour is an online event that brings together speed enthusiasts from all over the world in a single competition. The event is divided into 3 periods, each lasting several weeks. Bjorn Dunkerbeck, the man behind the concept, is back in 2023 with a platform that allows speed fans to compete against each other, regardless of their location. The three periods of the Dunkerbeck GPS Speed Challenge will take place in the same time slots as the previous three years.

1 April to 31 May: Period 1 Gran Canaria Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge
1 July to 31 August: Period 2 The Summer Edition
1 October to 30 November: Period 3 The Third

During each period, competitors upload their sessions to Gps-speedsurfing.com and enter the ranking with their average speed over a distance of 250 metres. Competitors can participate from anywhere in the world as long as they have an account on Gps-speedsurfing.com and access to a GPS device, including a means to upload their results to the event website in accordance with gp3s rules. New for 2023, Björn Dunkerbeck is handing over the reins to the first ever female race director, Anne Schindler, former German speed record holder and fan of the sport. This is an important step in promoting gender equality in water sports and encouraging more women to participate. The new race director brings a fresh perspective and can hopefully motivate more and more women to participate in this still very male dominated sport.
Each edition will have an additional theme to make the event even more fun. The Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge Global Virtual Tour will also focus on

Period 1: Who is the fastest in the nautical mile
Period 2: Who is the fastest alpha racer
Period 3: Who is the fastest over a maximum speed of 2 sec.

This event offers 3 types of supports to the competitors who can participate in fin, foil and finally wingfoil. Only one account is valid for all types of events and there is no entry fee!
