A great event at Margaret River

15/02/2024

At the beginning of February, Margaret River in Australia hosted the traditional Margaret River Windsurfing Wave Classic. The programme included great conditions and a 3-star event counting towards the PWA IWT Unified Wave Tour, which this year crowned Jane Seman and Jaeger Stone.

More than 50 competitors from almost every corner of Australia were in Margaret River from 1 to 4 February for the Margaret River Windsurfing Wave Classic, the major wave event of the season in Australia and a competition also on the PWA IWT Unified Wave Tour calendar.
In the women's event, and on a spot that she knows well, Jane Seman assumes her favourite status and wins hands down ahead of Sarah Kenyon, who wins in the U18 category.

In the Men's Open, the dingle elimination format was favoured, with a 2nd repechage round. In technical conditions and very tight heats from the outset, the locals made their presence felt and it was Scott McKercher who paid the price, missing out on the 4-way final for the first time in many years. Jaeger Stone, with his style and fluidity, finally won ahead of local Rick Vandertoorn and Ben Severne.
