With you, we continue

This week, the PWA World Tour is launching a brand new video project that was filmed throughout the 2025 season. The video production team set out to meet seven windsurfers to discuss their careers, both on and off the water. From legends of the sport to new faces who have appeared on the circuit in recent years, these interviews allow us to discover the people behind the riders and explore areas that have never been touched upon before...
This first instalment features an exclusive interview with Victor Fernandez, three-time windsurfing world champion, filmed after last summer's event in Gran Canaria. The documentary explores his remarkable career spanning more than 25 years at the top of the PWA World Tour.
Originally from Almeria in Spain, Victor Fernandez shares his early days in the sport at the age of five with surfing, then his transition to windsurfing at the age of nine. He talks about his childhood dream: to sail the legendary waves of Hookipa in Maui, a goal he finally achieved in 2001 at the age of 18. That first experience in Maui exceeded all his expectations and shaped his career.
The interview also explores his historic rivalry with Philip Köster and their epic battles at Pozo Izquierdo. He also reveals the secrets of his exceptional longevity in the sport, his approach to training, and how he balances competition and family life with his son Kona.
The documentary also touches on his memorable film projects such as ‘Four Dimensions’ and ‘Minds Wide Open’ with the late Andre Paskowski, his unforgettable sessions in Chile and Norway, and his terrifying experience at Jaws. Victor Fernandez shares his simple philosophy on life, his exceptional loyalty to his sponsors (Fanatic/Duotone) and his thoughts on a possible retirement.
Still competitive at 42 and still reaching the podium in 2025, this legendary champion embodies pure passion for windsurfing and continues to inspire future generations.
