Two new 4-star events in Europe

06/02/2026

With you, we continue

The World Wave Tour (WWT) continues to structure its new unified world circuit. For the 2026 season, France and the United Kingdom have been officially confirmed as 4-star events, integrated into the major international calendar. This is a strong recognition for two historic windsurfing nations, which are set to play a central role in this new sporting hierarchy.

These competitions, which will take place in Wissant, France, from 12 to 20 September and in Tiree, Scotland, from 10 to 16 October, are distinguished by their high level of organisation, high-calibre sporting fields and significant impact on the world rankings. They are a key step between the regional circuits and the major 5-star events.
Based on the traditional Wissant Wave Classic in France, this edition brings together an impressive number of competitors. This event offers an ideal setting for spectacular competitions, backed by solid organisational experience. For their part, the United Kingdom and the Tiree Wave Classic bring a more raw dimension to the circuit. The British stages are renowned for their demanding conditions, directly influenced by the North Atlantic. In recent years, more and more top professional riders have taken part in this event, such as Marc Paré, Julian Salmonn and Miguel Chapuis.
The 4-star status
offers European athletes a strategic opportunity: to accumulate valuable world ranking points while competing in accessible events, before aiming for the 5-star events. For the World Wave Tour, this confirmation reinforces the consistency of its pyramid system, designed to support riders' progression from local level to the world stage. The 2026 calendar continues to take shape, with further announcements expected in the coming months.
