The price revolution

Simmer Style is the first PREMIUM windsurfing brand to reduce our RRP by approximately 20%. With prices going up year after year, we had to take action to make this fantastic sport more accessible for the people. The new RRP for a 2024 Blacktip 4.7 is €710, compared to €880 during 2023 for a 2022/2023 Blacktip.

We have done this without lowering the quality of materials, design, or manufacturing. On the contrary, we have put more effort than ever before into the R&D of the 2024 all new Evoq and Blacktip. We feel that longevity and good-quality designs are more important than ever before. Our design philosophy is performance and durability, and now we want to make good sail design more accessible.
How is this reduction possible? We have improved production efficiency with less waste of materials through more effective panel layouts and more streamlined designs for production. Freight costs and handling fees have decreased significantly, and we will pass this saving on to our customers. Energy and labor costs for production in Asia have also gone down. Furthermore, our long-term relationship with our suppliers has helped us to create a more sustainable price point for our production. All this combined is reflected in our new RRP.

We have boldly decided to put our all-time best-selling sail model, the multiple test winner and iconic world wave sail, the Icon, to rest. The goal with our new wave sail is ultimate performance for the real-world rider with high demands on performance and quality in all conditions. This radical shift has allowed us to take the Blacktip even further towards the high-end competition scene, making it even lighter and more agile.
Inspired by our successful team edition project, we created a new scrim designed explicitly for our foot and clew panels for durability and impact resistance. We call it Q2-Ply. It is 20% lighter than 5 MIL X-Ply but as strong due to its specification with super thin 90-degree polyester threads layered on a 30-degree wide-spaced kevlar pattern. The Q2-Ply is featured on both the Evoq and the Blacktip.

The Evoq comes fueled with plug-and-play performance, needing less active rider input to excel exceptionally in a wide range of conditions. To optimize the performance, we have created a split batten range with four battens from 3.7 to 4.7 and five battens from 5.0 to 6.2. The main window on the 3.7 to 5.3 features a wide-spaced X-Ply to handle hardcore wave conditions, and the larger sizes feature monofilm.
We hope you can feel our team's enthusiasm and creative energy that has gone into our new wave sails. We are proud of what we have achieved during the past 18 months of R&D.
