Sporting conditions in Majorca

The iQFOiL Youth and Junior World Championship at Sa Ràpita on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands is offering windy conditions on Tuesday for the 375 competitors, giving them the opportunity to complete a total of 5 Course Races.

On Tuesday, the second day of the iQFOiL Youth and Junior World Championship, the wind was forecast to be from the sector, 13 knots in the morning, rising rapidly to 18 knots in the afternoon, with gusts in excess of 20 knots. With particularly rough seas, the difficult conditions are testing the skills and stamina of the young athletes, with 5 races on the day's programme.
In the women's U19 category, Great Britain's Darcey Shaw dominated, winning four of the five races and taking the lead in the rankings. She is closely followed by Norway's Maya Gysler and the Czech Republic's Nela Sadilkova, while Italy's Carola Colasanto and Medea Falcioni complete the top five.

In the men's U19 category, Italy's Federico Pilloni shone with five consecutive victories in the yellow fleet, taking first place. Slovenia's Val Erzen and Italian Leonardo Tomasini took second and third place respectively, while France's Lucas Gadeyne and Poland's Igor Lewinski battled it out for top spot.
In the women's U17 fleet, Israel's Alba Klein is flying high in the races, taking first place with five wins. Rüya Ugurlu and Sofia Zarzecka take second and third place respectively. In the men's U17 category, France's Marius Polo leads the standings, followed by Israel's Davia Aleshko and Itamar Levi, who are level on points.
The weather forecast predicts even stronger winds for the third day of racing on Wednesday, with more exciting battles to come.
