The PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) has just unveiled its 2026 calendar, promising a particularly busy and international season for the world's best windsurfers. From iconic spots to more unexpected destinations, the world tour will continue its ambition to offer an increasingly coherent and attractive tour.
For wave discipline, the Professional Windsurfers Association and the Wave World Tour are extending their collaboration within the Unified Windsurf Wave Tour (or Unified Word Wave Tour) (see our article of December 22, 2025).
In slalom, the positive momentum continues. The PWA is strengthening its collaboration with the IFCA to build a more transparent and sustainable international structure. Nine competitions are now spread across Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia. This cooperation aims to harmonize dates, regulations, and major sporting guidelines to limit scheduling conflicts and facilitate season planning for riders, organizers, and brands. This approach is essential to ensuring the sustainability of competitive windsurfing, even though only PWA events will count toward PWA world titles this year. Still in slalom, it is worth noting that the season will be marked by two major periods: Slalom X from May to August and Foil Slalom from September to November! Finally, the 2026 PWA World Tour calendar will mark a first with the introduction of a foil freestyle event in Qatar. Planned as an exhibition event, it is an important step towards the official recognition of future world titles in this rapidly growing discipline.
With this calendar, the PWA confirms its commitment to developing windsurfing while respecting the balance and future of the sport.
