29/07/2024

After a shaky start to the day, Sunday afternoon at the Fuerteventura PWA World Cup in the Canaries saw the final stages of the freestyle event come to a close, with Sarah-Quita Offringa and Lennart Neubauer taking final victories!

In a lighter wind than in previous days, Sarah-Quita Offringa once again demonstrated her dominance on Sunday by winning her 15th freestyle world title, taking her total to 23. Combining power and finesse, she defeated Oda Brødholt in the final. Oda Brødholt also shone, securing her place as vice-world champion. Norway's Maaike Huvermann put in a fine performance. Huvermann took a well-deserved third place after a complicated single elimination...

In the men's category, Lennart Neubauer won his first freestyle event of the season after a spectacular comeback, consolidating his world title ambitions. His duel against Adrien Bosson in the super final kept the spectators on their toes, with the Greek finally winning by one point thanks to some impeccable manoeuvres such as the double culo. Adrien Bosson, in second place, showed impressive determination despite a half-hearted first final. The 2022 world champion showed all his talent in the super final, but lost out to an in-form Neubauer. Defending champion Yentel Caers had to settle for third place after a tight battle with Neubauer. Balz Müller put in his best performance to date, taking fourth place after a series of innovative and daring moves, demonstrating his potential and freestyle spirit.
With the freestyle event coming to an end a day early, a potential super session is on Monday's programme before the Slalom X and Foil Slalom competitors take over on the Sotavento spot...
