Nicolas Goyard masterly!

11/05/2023

In very windy conditions, Frenchman Nicolas Goyard showed his talent at the iQFOil European Championships in Patras, Greece, with 4 clean and clear wins on Wednesday. In the women's category, the young Israeli guard is making a name for herself with a perfect day for Sharon Kantor and Tamar Steinberg.

Wednesday's second day of the iQFOil European Championships in Patras, Greece, sees the wind blowing hard again with gusts of almost 40 knots. The race committee prefers to delay this time and it is around 13:00, with the wind still between 25 and 35 knots, that the men start the first of 4 course races to follow.
On a water surface as difficult as ever and in technical conditions, the Frenchman Nicolas Goyard dominated his field and won 4 times, making his opponents a little more uncomfortable race after race. With 7 wins from 8 races, FRA-465 shows that he is at the top of his game. Behind him, the Dutch Huig-Jan Tak and the German Sebastian Koerdel are hanging on, while one Goyard can hide another with Thomas Goyard in 7th place after 2 days of competition.

In the women's race, the Israeli Sharon Kantor and Tamar Steinberg (2022 junior world champion) played their cards and took the lead of the race, Kantor offering herself, as Nicolas Goyard, 4 victories. The Dutch rider Sara Wennekes lost 2 places but remained on the podium, while the French rider Hélène Noesmoen did not have her best day and is now 12th.
It's time for another day of racing at the iQFOil European Championships on Thursday, with the competitors now divided into the Gold and Silver fleets, and the Marathon event on Thursday's programme.
