Nico Prien and Storm Benjamin

06/11/2025

After securing third place at the IFCA European Championships in Italy in mid-October, Nico Prien and his trusty cameraman wasted no time! Heading to the Netherlands in search of extreme conditions, they embarked on a thrilling adventure, all while Storm Benjamin was battering much of Europe.
First stop: Brouwersdam
, one of the most famous spots in the country. With gusts reaching 54 knots, it's one of the windiest sessions in GER-7's career! Next stop: Sonomayra, a perfect spot where the super-flat water is a real laboratory for learning and testing the discipline of speed. It takes a bit of effort to reach the spot, which is two kilometres away, but the sensations are well worth it. Hoke Dyke, on the Markermeer, offers slightly lighter conditions before a visit to Surf Center, the windsurfing shop where Nico Prien is a partner. Finally, at the end of his trip, GER-7 fulfils his dream of experiencing a unique moment sailing on a small Dutch canal. Between the trees disrupting the wind and difficult conditions, the session is short but unforgettable.
On the agenda, then, is a cool video, as only Nico Prien knows how to make, a real adventure with many facets, showing just how surprising and exciting windsurfing can be, even in extreme conditions!
