Lancelin Wind Festival 2023

08/02/2023

From 18 to 21 January, Lancelin, Western Australia, hosted the Lancelin Wind Festival, a competition in continuity with the traditional Lancelin Ocean Classic, which has been held at the same venue in previous years.
The programme included windsurfing and wingfoil, a wave event, another slalom event, regattas on the Techno 293, as well as initiations and, as the highlight, the famous marathon between Legde and Lancelin.
In the video, we look back at 3 beautiful days, which saw in particular the victories of Jaeger Stone in the waves and the Frenchman Alexandre Cousin in the slalom, a race characterised by rabbit starts from the beach with a 4X4! Another performance worth mentioning is that of another Frenchman, Bastien Escofet, who competed on both boards, windsurfing and wingfoil, winning the wingfoil (slalom and waves) and coming second in the waves (windsurfing) behind Jaeger Stone and ahead of Ben Severne!
The only regret was the lack of wind on the last day, which did not allow for the 21km long distance race that many competitors were expecting...
