KA Sails becomes Tribal Windsurfing

18/10/2023

Just a few days after Marine Hunter's victory at the Windsurf World Cup Sylt, with her emblematic blue and yellow KA Sails, the Australian-Dutch brand has decided to turn over a new leaf. A bold decision, to say the least: KA Sails will disappear from the market in 2024, to be replaced by Tribal Windsurfing.

The announcement was made shortly after Marine Hunter won the PWA World Tour event in Germany. From 2024, windsurfing enthusiasts will be able to find sails, accessories and a new range of boards under the Tribal Windsurfing name. Until now, Tribal has been a Finnish label, but this merger under a single banner heralds the start of a new era. Peter Weitenberg, head of the Dutch company PWsurfsport, is the architect of this major transition. A former European importer for KA Sails, he then took over the reins of the brand as a whole.

The decision to move to the Tribal Windsurfing brand represents a major strategic move. This transition to the future will consolidate all activities under a single brand name, focusing on the brand itself, riders, events, and marketing. As a result, KA Sails fans will find their favourite models under new names. The board collection includes the Radix for slalom and the Libero for freeride, complemented by boards dedicated to speed.
KA Sails, the emblematic sailmaker, is bowing out of the business and the start of an exciting new adventure for Tribal Windsurfing.
