Ideal conditions

01/11/2024

On Thursday for the fourth day of the iQFOiL Youth & Junior World Championship, the 375 competitors are enjoying ideal racing conditions after a forced break on Wednesday due to the lack of wind.

A steady north-easterly wind, oscillating between 8 and 18 knots, accompanied by choppy seas is the order of the day on Thursday for the fourth day of the iQFOiL Youth & Junior World Championship in Majorca on the Balearic Islands. It was an intense day for all the categories, with five valid races in each division. In the Men's U19s, the fleet is now split into Gold and Silver groups. In the U19 Women's category, Great Britain's Darcey Shaw retained her first place, followed by Maya Gysler and Nela Sadílkova, second and third respectively.

In the U19 Men's category, Italy's Federico Pilloni also held on to the lead, although his rivals were making more of an impact, putting an end to his winning streak in the first race of the day before he returned to winning ways in the final race. Behind him, Poland's Igor Lewinski took second place, followed by France's Kylian Manhaval in third.
In the U17 Men's category, the competition remained fierce. Israel's Itamar Levi leads the rankings, closely followed by France's Leopold Brisedou and Israel's David Aleshko. The other Frenchman, Marius Polo, is just behind, just one point off the podium.
The weather forecast for Friday remains uncertain, with heavy rain expected and a general warning issued by the Balearic authorities.
