Foil and Co splits from AHD

03/09/2024

It's a new chapter in the world of windsurfing. After 16 years of working together, Foil and Co has announced that it will no longer be licensing the AHD (Advanced Hull Dynamics) brand. This decision, taken in agreement with Christophe Piaget, owner of the brand and manager of Swiss company AHD Production S.A., will mark the end of an era at the end of 2024.

Since 2008, Foil and Co, previously known as Tridenn, had taken over the reins of AHD, a legendary brand in the world of windsurfing. With a heritage spanning more than 35 years, AHD has made a name for itself with innovative designs that have left their mark on the history of the sport. The birth of the windfoil was also marked back in 2009 by the AFS-1, a pioneering model that paved the way for the new era we know today. And in recent years, under the management of Foil and Co, the brand has continued to be present on spots all over the world.

However, in a moribund windsurfing market and with the growth of its own AFS brand, which specialises in various foils, Foil and Co has decided to refocus its efforts. The end of the AHD licence will enable them to concentrate all their resources on developing AFS, a brand that now occupies a prominent place in their strategy. The new windfoil and windsurf school equipment ranges will soon be available exclusively under the AFS brand, marking a new stage in the company's evolution. Marketing of products under the Sealion brand has been definitively discontinued...
As for the future of AHD, it is now in the hands of its Swiss owner. AHD Production S.A. is expected to announce further developments of the brand in the near future.
