Finally, some wind!

30/07/2025

The fifth day of the iQFOiL Youth & Junior World Championships finally brought the long-awaited ideal conditions to Brest Bay. With steady winds, all divisions completed several Upwind Sprint races, reshuffling the deck and setting the stage for a decisive final push.

In the U19 men's category, three intense races allowed the fleets to split into two groups, Gold and Silver, for the final day before the Medal Series. Peleg Rajuan retained the lead after a perfect day, winning all his races. He is tied on points with Mattia Saoncella, who also scored two wins out of three. In third place, Kylian Manhaval continued his rise with two wins on Tuesday.
In the U19 women's category, Medea Falcioni showed great consistency, maintaining her lead, which she has held since the start of the regatta. Emma Schleicher climbed to second place thanks to her consistent form and a victory at the end of the day. Francesca Maria Salerno remained solid in third place.

In the U17 boys' category, the day was marked by long and gruelling races. The Dutch team continues to dominate, but the hierarchy has been shaken up. Milo Zaal takes the lead, followed by Peyton Dits and Merlijn Boswijk, who climbs onto the podium after winning three races. Finally, in the U17 girls' category, Parla Kabasakal is now in the lead, although Naama Palatnik is still tied on points. Ruya Ugurlu completes the top three after an impressive performance.
Wednesday is the final stretch before the Medal Series, where the top eight in each fleet will be determined for a thrilling finale on Thursday.
