Antoine Albeau Series

23/05/2025

From August 29 to 31, the Antoine Albeau Series returns to La Couarde-sur-Mer, on the Ile de Ré, France for a third edition full of promise. Organized by the Wind Club Couardais, this event, initiated by the mayor of Les Portes-en-Ré, is gaining in prestige by becoming an official stage of the French long-distance windsurf and windfoil championships. Open to amateurs and professionals alike, the event will welcome up to 100 riders, compared with 45 last year, with registrations already open.
Antoine Albeau, 27-time world windsurfing champion, is co-organizing the event with his wife Paola. The event promises intense competition on the water, with courses leading up to the Chanchardon lighthouse, 5 km from the sailing school. Wingfoil will be added to the festivities, marking the first stage of the Wing Cup 17 2026, with harelip starts uniting all disciplines.
On land, the atmosphere will be festive, with a lively village, an open stage, a batucada and a party in a local bar. The well-established organization relies on a team of dedicated volunteers. With an attractive prize money and the expected presence of international PWA circuit stars such as Pierre Mortefon, the 2024 winner, the competition promises to be an exciting one.
