Antoine Albeau, once again!

10/10/2022

After 3 long days of waiting, the Défi Wind Corsica is finally rewarded for its patience on Sunday with 2 long distances which see the victory of the kitesurfer Kari Eisenhut and the one of the inevitable Antoine Albeau in windfoil!

For its very first edition, the Défi Wind Corsica was not spoiled by Mother Nature but on this Sunday, for the 4th and last day of competition, the wind is finally announced and it is from 8 am that the competitors are called.
The first race of the day started with a course towards the island of Perduto and 25 km on the programme, with windfoilers, kitefoilers and wingfoilers all setting off together on the same starting line. With technical conditions in which the kitefoilers excel, it is the Swiss Kari Eisenhut who quickly leads, followed by Antoine Albeau and Pierre Mortefon, in the same order on the finish line.

Just enough time to breathe and it's an upwind/downwind course to the Lavezzi islands that is proposed this time with 50 km in total. Kari Eisenhut is still very fast and efficient, followed this time by Sylvain Police, another kitesurfer, and Antoine Albeau who is ahead of Pierre Mortefon and Julien Bontemps.
In the overall ranking, 2 kitesurfers climb on 2 of the 3 steps of the podium, Kari Eisenhut, 1st, and Sylvain Police, 3rd, both framing Antoine Albeau winner in windfoil. With 8 windfoilers in the top 10, the windsurfers are making their presence felt, while Matéo Dussarps, 1st in wingfoil and 35th in the general ranking, proves that this young discipline already has a future on this type of event.
Barely enough time to enjoy the one and only windy day that the Défi Wind Corsica is already over, an original idea that calls for other editions and on other equally magical sites!
