Adrien Bosson remains the boss

The second day of the Fuerteventura PWA World Cup 2024 offered a great spectacle with the completion of the men's freestyle single elimination. With the wind oscillating between 20 and 30 knots, the conditions of the day allowed Adrien Bosson to win and confirm that he remains one of the bosses of the discipline.

Adrien Bosson dominated Friday's race, taking first place after a thrilling final against Lennart Neubauer. In a final surge, Bosson, the 2022 world champion, pulled off a spectacular last-second culo, putting him just 0.7 points ahead of Neubauer. This master stroke, preceded by an impressive bongka and followed by several burners, sealed his victory. Bosson, who won the single elimination last year, is determined to reclaim his title this year, having become a young father just 1 month ago...

Despite losing the final, Lennart Neubauer shone throughout the day. The world runner-up impressed with scores in excess of 40 points. Yentel Caers, the reigning world champion, also showed his determination. After a tight semi-final against Neubauer, he beat Sam Esteve to secure third place in this single elimination. Sam Esteve, who put in solid performances against Steven Van Broeckhoven and Jacopo Testa, did not repeat his exploits in the semi-final against Bosson. But he is still in contention for a good place in the double elimination. Despite putting up a good fight, Testa narrowly lost out to Esteve, sharing fifth place with Balz Müller, Antony Ruenes and Youp Schmit. The day ended with the first five heats of the double elimination, interrupted by a wind that had become too irregular.
The forecast for Saturday is for slightly lighter winds, but with enough consistency to keep the competition going...
