A moment of sharing

11/05/2024

With the sun shining brightly and the Tramontana not in sight, the Défi Wind à Gruissan offers an unrivalled spectacle, with professional and amateur competitors from all over the world. Despite the capricious weather forecast, the event retains all its magic, transforming the Chalets beach into a veritable windsurfing arena.

Despite the lack of wind on Friday for the 2nd day of the Défi Wind, Philippe Bru and his organising team are keeping things lively. The public, who turned out in their droves, were treated to a host of activities to brighten up the day. But what really catches the eye is the communion between the legends of the sport and the anonymous enthusiasts. All day long, in glorious sunshine, the champions were on hand for autographs, demonstrations of their equipment and invaluable advice to windsurfers.

The brand village was also packed to the rafters, with enthusiasts ever more eager to find out what was new and get advice from the brand representatives on hand... Far from being just a competition, the Défi Wind is proving to be a melting pot of sharing and emotion.
And while we wait for the wind to pick up on Saturday, perhaps from the south-east for the funny races, the event is buzzing with meetings and exchanges, confirming its status in the windsurfing world.
